Enabling Postive Change: Coaching Conversations in Occupational Therapy

Editors: Wendy Pentland, Jeanette Isaacs-Young, Jen Gash, Amy Heinz

This is the first book to be published that focuses specifically on the use of the coaching approach and coaching conversations in occupational therapy. It’s the outcome of an international collaboration of over 15 occupational therapists from five continents who have trained in coaching and are using coaching in their occupational therapy practices.

Enabling Positive Change will appeal to practising therapists, students, those interested in teaching coaching for occupational therapy and it will assist occupational therapy scholars in identifying research questions that need to be asked going forward.

Features include:

Case scenarios illustrating how coaching can be put into practice

Stories from occupational therapists worldwide about the uses and impacts of coaching

Program information on coaching education and certification

A call to action to enhance professional competencies through coaching, to help address serious world problems by enabling positive human change

"this book has a chapter for every OT at every stage and phase of career and really life. While I have always had an interest in coaching, this book has heightened my awareness as to why I have always found it personally helpful, and has also inspired me to look at coaching and coaching training more seriously as the next stage for me in my journey as an OT"
